The lecture was build upon the ideea of green construction and real estate developement in the U.S.

The discourse path followed :

  • to point out the context offered not only by the U.S. Building Stock, but also by the climate situation – the last one, coordinated by measurements and statistics regarding both the energy consume process and the rate of GHG emissions -;

  • the accomplishments display of the certification systems LEED and ENERGY STAR – using the comparative study and the observation analysis through time of both systems limitations;

  • the critical and comparative presentation of a suite of sustainable mechanisms, among witch : energetic codes, equipement standards or selection criterias of certification systems, as LEED and ENERGY STAR;

  • choosing and explaining the relevant market drivers both from non-governmental and governmental environment;
