Carlo Battisti and Historical Renovations using Green Principles

Romania Green Building Council had the honour to invite Carlo Battisti in Bucharest for teaching the course “Historical Renovations using Green Principles”.
Carlo Battisti has 20 years of experience in several Italian construction firms performing multiple roles. He has worked for Habitech, Distretto Tecnologico Trentino (Italy) – the founding member of Green Building Council Italy – as Program Manager of the Business Unit on Sustainable Materials and Construction Products. He launched the web site ‘green map’; the first Italian on-line database of LEED compliant products.
The workshop provided an overview and case studies about historic building, about main problems and opportunities in sustainable renovation of historic building, a new rating system for historic building sustainable refurbishment assessment and others interesting subjects related to historical renovations.
Romania Green Building Council at TNI

During the 4th -6th of October 2013, RoGBC participated at the National Real Estate Fair, with the goal of educating the visitors on what does a green building mean, bringing forwards examples of initiatives, furniture design and built constructions.
Thus, within the RoGBC booth at TNI, we presented Green Mortgage – more attractive loans for the acquisition of green houses, together with EcoBiblioteca and the Câlnic School pilot projects. As examples of sustainable design, we invited Laboratorul de Arhitectură, ZEST Collective and Tubajera in order to set the outline of an environmentally friendly and attractive furniture. In order to raise the awareness of visitors, we offered them the list of the greenest buildings in Romania, including residential constructions, together with a Guide for Building Green Homes, informing them on what a sustainable building means and on its basic requirements.
Thanks to the success of this year’s booth, Romania Green Building Council, in partnership with the National Real Estate Fair, will develop a Green Corner within the future editions of the Fair. More on this subject soon!
Gardiner & Theobald becomes Sentient, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest independent construction consultancy practice

We are very pleased to inform you that the management team of the operating companies of Gardiner & Theobald CEE., a premier provider of construction consultancy services in Central and Eastern Europe, has completed a buyout of the companies from the parent company, Gardiner & Theobald LLP.
The new company, Sentient, will be owned exclusively by its management team to ensure continuity and business as usual. The company will continue to have close links with G&T with the intention of cooperating on opportunities as they arise.
We have been operating in CEE for almost 20 years and have established offices in Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Bucharest, Bratislava and Zagreb. We are pleased to announce that we have already established new bases in Montenegro and East Africa to work with new and existing clients on some significant opportunities.
We are very excited about the change which will allow us to continue to provide client focused professional support exhibited prior to the acquisition in existing and new markets and sectors.
